Advanced Plastic Surgery Technologies and Protocols
Until recently, many patients seeking cosmetic or aesthetic changes or enhancements to certain features or even an entire "body image" tended to focus on the removal of fatty tissue.
The old fashioned liposuction procedures were developed and rapidly became the most popular means of getting rid of unwanted tissue and weight. Like Dr. Lyons, many plastic surgeons have now abandoned the old liposuction technology, replacing it with minimally invasive Lipo Ex (read more) technology.
Injectable Commercial Collagen
In situations where patients wanted "more tissue" or a degree of plumpness that is equated with young physiques and overall healthy tissue, Collagen injections became quite popular. The use of collagen in lips and lines around the mouth became wildly popular
It didn't take long, however, for many patients to discover that more is not always "better." Excessive use, perhaps abuse, led to the discovery that too much collagen too fast can produce unwanted results.
Fat Transfer Procedure Drama
Dr. Lyons' recent investment in leading edge surgical instruments now enables patients to have tissue modifications using their own healthy fat tissue. The basic theory is straight forward. Remove fatty tissue where it is in excess and deposit into areas where normal fatty tissue tends to disappear naturally.
A detailed procedure description that provides technical detail can be reviewed here.
Hands
It's no secret that our hands tend to reveal aging factors more readily than any other tissue area. Exposure to the elements, occupational activities even raising a large family can make our hands appear to age rapidly.
Dr. Lyons' use of the fat transfer procedure enables patients to regain the healthy and plump appearance our hands normally have. The photos below dramatize only one of the procedure options our patients have.
Face Cheeks Neck and Jaw Fat Redistribution
The accumulation of fat in unwanted areas and, almost paradoxically, the loss of fat in wanted areas (like hands, above) can contribute to the perception of older age and, in many cases, unduly accelerate the aging effects of too much or too little tissue in the right places.
The pre-op and post-op pictures presented below demonstrate how fat tissue can be redistributed along the jaw, smile lines, cheek bones and forehead to recreate what we once had during our younger years.
Notice how adding tissue within an area to create volume, or a 3 dimensional effect (flat forehead profile becomes rounded or plump) creates a profile that is typical of a younger face. A similar effect is created for the lip structures.
Fat Transfer - Weekend FaceLift Treatment Package
As with most of our plastic surgery procedures, patients can combine them in a variety of ways to create the desired outcome that eliminates the need for a long sequence of appointments.
Our non invasive and minimally invasive services are ideal since recuperation time is practically negligible. Here is an example of how fat transfer can be combined to create the Weekend Facelift.
